Christian Morrisseau is the son of Legendary Artist Norval Morrisseau.
Norval was credited for founding the Woodland Style of painting, in the late 1950s.
His paintings are loved and collected worldwide, with people like the late
Pablo Picasso owning his work and attending his shows.
Being taught the family traditions and stories from generations of the Anishnaabe peoples ancientmyths and legends Christian started painting in May 2002.
With Norvals passing last year, the family legacy continues from father to son.
Christian was born on December 11, 1969 and raised in Red Lake, Ontario. He now currently resides in Keewaywin First Nation, Ontario.
