Jason Carter's new series - Nanabozho: The Trickster Rabbit. A colourful and creative display of paintings exploring the wonderful world of this fun little rabbit and the characters he often foiled, tricked and / or taunted. Nanabozho is a character in Cree forklore, amongst others, used by elders to teach children morals and reason for there surroundings. Even though Carter is a member of the John D'or Nation, he was raised in an urban envoirment with little emphasis of his aboriginal ancestory. He took this opportunity to discover his history. "This is a great way to learn the stories. The best part of this is that I am ensuring the stories continue to be heard in a culture that struggles to maintain its rich oral history."
