Jeff Ferst's work has been termed "Flamboyant", "Life-affirming" and "Juicy".
Painting fluid, tactile and emotional works. He draws upon the pastorial, architectural and sensory experiences in his daily life. Breaking down traditional landscape objects and his emotional reaction to them into geometric shapes constructed of colour and texture. For you the viewer, the images are not at first recognizable. After closer scutiny one can see the physical - Buildings, fields, trees, open water and people...then the emotional - Joy, celebration, empathy, anger. Sometimes the images blend together so the physical spaces and the emotional experiences are as one. Jeff Ferst grew up in the Bronx, New York. He now lives with his partner in Cambridge Ontario.
